Biography.
Born in Venezuela, Oriana Pirela is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist based in Miami, FL, whose work merges fine art, digital innovation, and immersive experiences. Her artistic journey is deeply rooted in resilience, transformation, and a passion for storytelling.
She originally pursued a degree in Electronic Engineering at university, but her life took a drastic turn due to the political persecution of students in Venezuela. Facing increasing instability and personal threats, she was forced to leave her homeland. A family tragedy further solidified her decision to relocate, seeking both safety and a new path forward in the United States.
Despite these challenges, art became her refuge and voice. She developed a bold, dynamic style that blends elements of pop art, surrealism, abstraction, and figurative expression. Her work, spanning acrylic and mixed media paintings, digital art, and augmented reality (AR), explores themes of identity, nostalgia, and transformation.
As an innovator in AR-integrated art, Oriana pushes artistic boundaries, allowing viewers to engage with her pieces beyond the canvas. She has exhibited at prestigious venues, including the Super Bowl Official Charity, The Moore Building in Miami’s Design District, Magic City Gallery, Miami River Art Fair (Art Basel), and Cipriani New York. She has collaborated with brands like City Furniture, Tech Ed X and Joku and was a U.S. brand ambassador for Artivive.
Beyond traditional galleries, she has embraced digital evolution, showcasing her work in the metaverse as part of one of the first virtual art galleries with Habitat and participating in NFT exhibitions on the Solana Blockchain.
Her commitment to making an impact extends beyond art. She has actively participated in charity initiatives such as Silent Victims of Crime and Power of Goodness. One of her recent works was sold for a significant amount, with all proceeds donated to support Ukraine.
In addition to visual art, Oriana incorporates music into her creative expression, performing live shows where she sings and paints simultaneously, creating a fully immersive artistic experience.
Through a fusion of traditional techniques, digital art, and performance, Oriana continues to redefine what it means to be an artist in the modern era, using her work to inspire, provoke thought, and tell stories that transcend borders.
